I keep saying I'll be back and then I keep disappearing again.

Must be the excess testosterone.

Anyway, a couple of events:

1) The "Julie & Julia" trailer gets released tomorrow.  Once I know where it can be viewed online I'll let you know.  I've seen the movie, and the trailer.  It looks like a trailer for a Nora Ephron movie, whatever that means to you.

2) Also tomorrow - I'm going to be on the New York NBC News at 11 in all my zaftig, be-skivvied glory.  And after that?  In every taxi cab in New York.  Fun stuff.

UPDATE: Haven't found the trailer yet, but here's the excruciating spot on NBC.  I got tons of airtime, presumably because I'm fat.  Which I'm aware of.  Any commenters who wish to make merry with the vast white expanse of corseted me will be firebombed.  And I know how to make explosives with beef suet, so don't test me.

UPDATE II: I've been misinformed.  Trailer isn't coming out until May.  Sorry about that - for now only fat writers, no gorgeous accomplished actors.....

Well that's great you got a movie too!

I just got done reading your book, we (my friends and I) loved it!

Having seen, scanned and put back on the shelf: Mastering the Art of French Cooking, I knew your book would be a good one!

Congrats!

I hope the movie is as good as your book. Your book made me laugh out loud. But Meryl is in it...so it should be pretty good!

How do you feel about having a movie done about you?

And please please let us know when the trailer is released!

I'm eagerly anticipating the movie - as I loved the book and am sure that we'd get on just famously over a few beverages and ciggies - but I can't help to anticipate that the movie won't really be the same flavor as the book. How can a Nora Ephron film capture the tone of the book? She's all rom/com and your book is something that couldn't be conveyed with a rating less than "R" (if only for the swearing alone!). I LOVED the book and am sure I'll enjoy the movie too. KUDOS to you for your well-deserved and earned success! (but I know that deep down, behind the flattery of the movie that it's not the book) To you all that haven't read the book: READ IT FIRST BITCHES! You will love it.

Where is the trailer?! I love the fact that Meryl is in it, she's so damn good. Also, Amy Adams is quite talented too! I bet it's going to be a great film!

Julie, I just want to take a quick second to shout out. Thanks so much for your audiobook, Julie and Julia. When you first started the blog on salon, I read it. I have a really lame vision disorder and reading a book now is o-v-e-r!! I pretty much rely on audible.com for books now, and yours was a real treat! I know it's too soon to talk about putting Cleaving on audio, but do please put a little pressure on them, or tell me where to send my request and I will!! Meantime, I feel all inspired now and have pulled a beautiful T Bone out of the freezer. I have looked in my cupboards and found a package of chickpeas. not sure how I am going to swing ths, but I will. I'm thinking...North Africa.
Cheers

Are you one of those gorgeous women? Not a single one of you are fat, you're just beautiful! Women come in so many sizes and shapes, it's wonderful that Isis is celebrating it. I happen to be thin (blame it on my genes) and I love the diversity!

Hi Julie, it's so nice to 'see' you again. I stumbled onto the Project about a third of the way in. I didn't have the courage to comment more than maybe once or twice, but I was an avid follower, along for the ride.

You were my first blog. :-) I started reading you as an admin assistant in San Francisco and read the finish from Germany where I still am today.

I found the Book in an airport somewhere in Europe when it was released and picked it up again recently to inspire me through an apartment move from Munich to Nurnberg...which actually is proving to be quite a bit like moving from NY to the boonies.

I just finished the Book again a few days ago and then just stumbled across mention of your new book and the movie. It's one hell of a coincidence. It feels lucky, like finding 20 euros on the ground. I can't wait.

Congratulations on both...and thanks, it's a pleasure reading your words.

I read your book (amazing) and it has inspired me to create my own blog, cooking through all of the recipes in Paula Deen's cookbook. And believe me, I think Paula uses more cream, butter, and salt than Julia Child ever knew existed. Oh, and sour cream. Gross.

And you're not fat!

-Dedicated bleeder and lover of all things Julia Child.
